Abstract

An adjustable hinge pin for strap hinges consists of a base plate (13) and a pin (15) which serves as the axis for the hinge of a door or shutter. This pin (15) has on its lower section a cylindrical collar (17) which is welded to the base-plate (13). The base plate contains horizontal slotted holes through which screws are inserted into the wall. The fact that the holes are considerably wider than the screw heads means that the plate can be readily adjusted. A reinforcing plate (31) can also be used. The hinge pin can be easily fixed to any angle in the wall and adjusted so that any final adjusting of the door or shutter is eliminated.
