Abstract

A corner plate for use on sliding doors and windows consists basically of a right angled corner plate with the two legs (35, 36) of unequal length. The shorter leg (36) has at least one projection (40) on a face external to the angle while the other has a slot (45) into which a screw (46) is inserted. The corner plate is attached to each of the upper corners of the sliding door or window so that the projection engages in a longitudinal inverted U-shaped fillet (31) on the frame and guides the door/window when moved. The use of these plates prevents undue wear and tear on the water and air tight strip surrounding the door or window.
