Abstract

The grab is attached to a jib arm (25) pivoting about horizontal and vertical axes and constitutes upper (32) and lower (34) opposed jaws with multiple teeth. The upper jaw pivots w.r.t. a jib mounted arm (30) and the lower jaw is fixed to this arm (30) which can rotate w.r.t. the main jib arm (25). The lower jaw (34) is arranged approx. perpendicular to the arm (30). Each jaw has an arc shaped cross section and one jaw (34) has a greater number of teeth than the other jaw, with opposed teeth staggered to permit interlocking at jaw closure.
