Abstract
The body (1) is a straight length of bar having a plain cylindrical bore (4); one end has a connection (3) from the pump, the other one (2) to the equipment. In the bore is a piston (5), of square cross section, having a plain cylindrical bore (8) and a smaller through hole (7). A spring loaded ball (9) seats over the hole. The piston is spring held (12) at one end (6). Fluid (F) from the pump pushes the ball off its seating, passing through the valve. In the opposite direction (F'), the ball closes the hole and the piston moves off its seat, flow passing between the piston and bore.
