Abstract

The device uses compressed air, caused by vehicle movement, to remove drops of water from the mirror. On the mirror (1) is placed a funnel shaped air collector (2) with an opening (4) facing to the vehicle front. This air is turned through a right angle and emerges so as to cause a flow of air over the mirror face, so removing drops adhering to it. The air collector may be pivotally fitted to the vehicle body where, for example, the mirror is fitted to a door. An alternative is to have a large number of holes penetrating the mirror to allow a through air flow, eddies removing drops. A fine mesh may be placed in the collector to prevent insects going through.
