Abstract

The headlight unit is adjusted by a mechanism which has a plastics nut which does not corrode and does not require thread cutting. The nut is a cast plastics disc which has a bore with smooth walls. This nut is held in a bracket on fixed support of the headlight unit and it engages with an adjusting screw. The nut has two side guide ribs for fitting into a slotted mounting plate and a longitudinal groove parallel and opposite to the splitting slot in the nut wall. The nut raised ends have circular sections which join straight sections so that the intersections form steps for snap fit engagement with the slotted mounting plate clamping lugs.
