Abstract

Reel for sewing threads, etc. comprises a moulded plastics cylindrical body with a plate at each end, and with deep channels opening out at the reel surface, formed during moulding to extend in a direction parallel to the reel axis. Pref. there are two rows of channels of which the mid-planes extend perpendicularly to a diametric plane, with the openings of the channels in one row directed in the opposite direction to those of the channels in the other row. The bottom of each channel lies as close as possible to the diametric plane or to the inner surface of the central bore, while leaving a continuous central core of sufficient strength.
