Abstract

The laminated board consists of a refractory material layer (1) such as asbestos, layer of a resin (2), which hardens by polymerisation after adding a catalyst, and a layer of glass fibres. In practice, the layer of refractory material can be 5mm thick, and the layers of resin and glass fibres can be 3 to 4mm thick. The number of various layers can be increased according to requirements. Such a board can be exposed on its refractory side to electric arcs, and can be subjected to mechanical loads because of its resin and glass fibre layers. Typically, it can be used for electric contact breaker chambers.
