Abstract

A cap (2) fits over the nib end of the pen body (1) and body and cap are tapered externally and so shaped as to give the impression of a virtually cylindrical body when fitted together. A ring (5) is fixed on the rear part of the body and has an external diameter appreciably greater than that of the bod bottom part and at least equal to the internal diameter at the forward end of the cap. This secures the cap by friction when fitted over the body rear end. The ring can fit in an annular groove (7) formed in the rear part of the body, and can be of distorting material. A slight clearance can be left between the base of the groove and the ring.
