Abstract

A radiator with a rectangular casing containing heat exchanger tubes has an inlet hole (1) and an outlet holet (14) for the supply and return pipes through one end of the top. The tubes have three downwards travelling legs (6/5, 6/6, 6/7) for three sets of tubes and three upwardly travelling legs (11/5, 11/8, 11/7) for the same sets. To ensure even heating from the whole of the long front side (16) the base of the housing is divided longitudinally by a vertical plate (17) between the front and rear sets of coils, forming front (7/1) and rear (7/2) compartments. The length (19) of this plate is less than the length (20) of the long side (16) so as to leave a clearance (21) at the bottom for the pipes between the front and rear sets of tubes.
