Abstract

The cooling system is for the lubricant used in the sealed shaft bearing of an industrial mixing machine. The rotating shaft (30) has oil tight seals at the top (76) and bottom (77) of a space kept fed with a lubricant. Around the shaft, but not touching it, is closely wound a coil (90) of a tube connected to an inlet (92) and an outlet. The coil is fed with a cooling liquid which circulates and carries away the heat built up in the bearing when the machine is in use.
