Abstract

The valve assembly consists of an outer ring or sleeve sealed on the outside by an O-ring and an inner valve plunger sliding inside the sleeve. The valve plunger is spring loaded. When the liquid gas bottle nozzle is pressed into the lighter, the valve opens to the position shown. Gas enters the lighter tank by the path shown A while the air in the tank escapes via path B. When the lighter is full, the gas overflows via path B. When the ful bottle is withdrawn, the valve plunger closes against the spring O-ring (4) moves past the overflow hole (6) and closes on the shoulder of the body. The valve is simple and there are no restrictions on its operation.
