Abstract

The joint is formed by a circumferentially split outer cylinder and an inner cylinder that will slide in it. A flexible, slightly conical, sleeve, rolled into a U section, joins the two cylinders. The sleeve has one leg lying against inside of outer cylinder and the other against outside of inner cylinder, has its outer end clamped between the two halves of the outer cylinder and its inner end clamped to the extremity of the inner cylinder by a screwed ring. The two cylinders have shoulders which slide on the other cylinder and give guidance during motion, which is limited by stops. During motion there is no sliding motion of sleeve relative to cylinders.
