Abstract

The spout is particularly for foodstuffs, delivered into containers by metering pumps, and avoids soiling the edge of the container by dribbling etc. It has a central inlet nozzle, to which a peripheral skirt, forming the body of the spout, is solidly secured. An internal cup faces the nozzle, with its sdies near the skirt. Both skirt and cup walls can be cylindrical, enclosing a relatively narrow annular space between. The cup can be adjusted axially in the spout, having an edge working with that of the skirt to control the width of the gap through which the liquid flows, the faces being tapered and at similar angles.
