Abstract

The current supply (1) has conducting segments (4, 4a) and (5, 5a) with insulating segments (6) inbetween them. The segments (4, 4a) and (5, 5a) have different polarities and those of the same polarity are joined together in an even-uneven fashion. The vehicle itself has at least two collectors (3, 3a) in contact with two segments (4 and 4a) of different polarity. The two collectors are on a single fixing, typically at the end of a trolley pole when the spacing between segments is small. Spacing is such that the distance between the two collectors (3, and 3a) is greater than the length of a conductor segment (4, 4a, 5, 5a) and less than the length of a segment and two insulating pieces (5). The length of the collectors (3, 3a) is less than that of the insulation (6).
