Abstract

A light source and a receiver with a photo-transistor of other photo-element, are used with an optical system which directs the emitted light onto an exterior reflector, so that it is directed back to the receiver. An auxiliary luminous source is added which permanently illuminates the photo-transistor which constitutes the photo-electric receiver. This auxiliary lighting source maintains sensibly constant the sensitivity of the photo-transistor for wide variations of ambient lighting. The sensitivity of the photo-transistor increases rapidly when the ambient lighting passes from 0 to a 1000 lux. With the addition of auxiliary lighting, the sensitivity of the photo-transistor is maintained sensibly constant from 0 to a 1000 lux.
