Abstract

Each cable core (172) is crimped in the ribs (159) of the tube (142) which is supported in an insulated housing (166). An intermediate socket allows connection between two suitably prepared cable ends and the whole is held together by a turning motion of a collar. The assembly is made watertight by the use of heat shrinking sleeves around the cable entry and elastic seals for the couplings. A special tool can be used for the connection of the coupling.
