Abstract

Indicating control device is for the instant in each half cycle of an alternating potential supplied by a source, at which triggering takes place of a switch arranged in series with an impedance, which together with the switch is connected to the terminals of the a.c. source. Control is secured as a function of the lag or time dephasing, w.r.t. the alternating potential, of the current intensity in the impedance when the controlled switches are permanent conductors, partic. where the impedance is the prim. of a transformer, the sec. of which supplies welding pulses to a resistance welder. Indicating devices consist of an indicating element and means for connecting this to the terminals of the switch means, the indicating element being designed to emit (1) a signal of a first value when an alternating potential appears at the switch terminals for a time during each half cycle, at least equal to a predetermined period and (ii) a signal of a second value differing from the first when the potential across the terminals of the switch is not zero in each half cycle, for a time at most equal to the predetermined period.
