Abstract

Shuttleless looms of a generally conventional structure, are improved by (a) the simultaneous incorporation of improved mechanisms for controlling the weft-carrying needles mounted on corresp. carrier arms, in turn supporting novel guide devices, (b) improved bobbin-carrying racks, provided with a universal adapting device for bobbins of any conicity, as well as with reserve bobbins and pyramidal anti ballooning devices, (c) selection of weft yarns by an array of selector elements with weft yarn presenting devices for facilitating the entry of the yarn into the needle of the loom, (d) suitable means for maintaining the weft in the threaded needle and a brake for controlling the yarn tension, (e) sensitive electro-mechanical devices for bringing about the automatic stoppage of the loom in the event of accidental breakage of the weft yarn, (f) appts. for cutting the yarn after each pick, (g) two carrier needles and a weft yarn reception device which cross in the centre of the loom at each passage, and (h) automatic unwinding of the warp permitting continuous unwinding from the warp beam.
