Abstract

Compsn. consists of a water-insol. binder (I), a water-sol. binder (II), a pigment and the normal additives, in which (II) is an allyl alcohol/acrylamide copolymer of which 5-80%, pref. 15-40% is allyl alcohol. (I) is a copolymer of styrene with butadiene or an acrylic deriv., of which 50-70% is styrene. The compsn. contains 1-10% (I), 0.1-5% of (II) 30-70% of pigment, pref. kaolin, and, based on the wt. of pigment, 0-0.4% dispersant, 0.08% flow agent, 0-0.4% optical blue, 0.02% insolubilising resin, plus water. The compsns. have a good flow and give coatings with good light resistance, suitable for offset printing, heliography and typography.
