Abstract

The loom has a pair of heald frames for respective warps, the frame being reciprocable vertically to form the shed and being driven by a common eccentric drive mechanism such that they only cross over by a small amount in forming the shed. One of the heald frames is driven by a separate eccentric drive mechanism to move laterally as the heald frames cross-over. Pref. both eccentric drive mechanisms are located in an oil filled casing. The loom operates at high speed with relatively slow movement of the heald frames. Vibration and yarn breakage are reduced.
