Abstract

Improving the electrostatic sprayability of paints and similar coatings by incorporating cpds. of formula (I): (where R is (un) satd opt. branched 2-24C hydrocarbon n = 2-4; (m+a+p) = 3 to 100, x and y = 1 or 2, R2 = H, (un)satd opt. branched 1-36C aliphatic or aromatic gp. Addn of I has non of the drawback of prior art pre-spray treatments e.g. reducing viscosity and adding polar solvent which are expensive and give thin coats.
