Abstract

alloy useful as a glass feeder in glass fibre industry contains by wt: 14-79% Pt; 20-85% Rh; and 0.01-1.0 of a third metal selected from the refractory or platinium group metals such as Ir, W, Re, Mo. Preferred compn is: 40% Pt; 59.5% Rh. and 0.5% Mo. For a composite glass feeder consisting of sidewalls and hollow projections located on a partic. sidewall, and sidewalls comprise 75-85% Pt; 15-25% Rh; and a small trace of Mo; the partic. sidewall comprises 40-60% Pt; 40-60% Rh and up to 1.0% Mo, the hollow projections comprise 70-80% Pt; 20-30% Rh and a trace of Mo.
