Abstract

Doxorubicin 14-esters of a mono- or dicarboxylic aliphatic, aromatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or heterocyclic acid (1-20C) opt. substd. by halogen, OH, alkyl, alkoxy, NH2, NO2; mono- or dialkyl substd. alkyl- or arylcarbonic acids; carbamic acids, alkylcarbamic acids, and sulphonic acids; also their acid-addn. salts. They are prepd. by treating 14-bromodaunomycin or a salt with a salt of the required acid with an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or a quaternary ammonium gp., opt. alkylated. The reaction medium is pref. an inert polar solvent, e.g. acetone.
