Abstract

The radially inner edge of each side wall of the tyre is provided with pref. rubber annular ribs capable of flexing tangentially and having an axially extending radially inner face. When the tyre deflates, the inner face of the ribs engage respective side flanges of the wheel rim to compensate for differences in speed between the wheel rim and tyre. Damage to the tyre or sudden deflation is reduced.
