Abstract

Separator employs the field of a permanently magnetised rod to collect ferrous particles, pref. on a non-magnetic sheath sepg. the magnet's surface from the particles. When the separator is taken from its service location for cleaning, temporary removal of the sheath frees it from the rod's magnetic field so that particles fall easily away from the sheath.
