Abstract
Elimination of ammonia from coking plant and gasworks exhaust gases by (a) washing the gases directly with acids (or their solns) to produce a dissociable ammonium salt (b) decomposing the salts in a decomposition zone with a heat resitant body, and a Ni catalyst (c) buring by supplying air (opt. with other combustible gases). Prefd. acids are sulphuric acid, or aqs. suspensions or solns. of ammonium bisulphate or mono-ammonium phosphate.
