765,673. Purifying gases containing hydrogen sulphide. PAULING, H. Feb. 11, 1953 [March 31, 1952], No. 3898/53. Class 55 (2). Weak solutions of potassium or sodium carbonate which have been used to purify gases containing hydrogen sulphide are regenerated by adding to the liquid a quantity of ammonia in excess of the quantity of acid substances removed from the gases and expelling the ammonium salts thus formed by blowing in steam. The ammonia may be added in liquid or gaseous form.
