Abstract

Fine sealed adherent layers of LiI are formed on Li metal by surface reaction with iodine in chemical solution. The coating is subsequently coated with Pt, the assembly forming an electrochemical cell. The cell is less liable to breakdown than prior art..Li-LiI-AgI-Ag cells of similar type prepared by vapour deposition.
