Abstract

Acrylic fibres or foils are produced in a single operating step by partial or complete direct polymerisation or crosslinking of the polymerisable or cross-linkable starting constituents pref. acrylamide in the fibre or foil forming member using electron beam radiation. Electron beam energy varies of from 0.3 to 1.5 MeV to give an output varying from 10 to 60 kW.
