Abstract

Liquid medicaments are administered in tablet form in a compn. contg. (I) a soft gelatine core contg. the medicament; (II) around this core a conventional tablet formulation, which may contain another medicament; (III) an external coating, resistant to gastric juices. Such tablets are more resistant to thermal and mechanical shock than are conventional gelatine capsules, and there is no loss of activity as sometimes occurs when a liquid medicament is adsorbed on to a solid and then administerd.
