Abstract

Granular enzymatic product, of use in washing products and detergents, is prepared by converting a particular enzyme and a particulate auxiliary detergent salt in the presence of water, into granules, and incorporating an inorganic colloidal Si-contg. substance to eliminate the undesirable odour usually present. The auxiliary salt becomes hydrated to at least 80% of the theoretical amt. of water in the completely hydrated salt. The enzyme is pref. a proteolytic enzyme, the auxiliary salt is pref. anhydrous sodium tripolyphosphate and the colloid is pref. silica. The granular product thus pref. contains 2-50% of the enzymatic prepn., 20-98%, esp. 40-90%, of the hydrated auxiliary salt and 1-40%, pref. 1-15% of the colloid (all calc. on the solids present).
