Abstract

Lorry side panels comprising reinforced resin panels coated externally with a polyester get coat, backed if necessary by a grid of stiffening members, and fixed against steel support members, where the interior of the panel is covered with a polyester film which also envelops the brackets used to secure the panels to the steel supports. Pref. the stiffening members are made of polyurethane foam. The panels are much lighter and quieter than steel side panels. The polyester film seals any gaps between the panels and the supports and prevents spillage of the load.
