Abstract

The process is for covering industrial soils for factories, floors or subsoils for buildings, roads, car parks, underground garages, bridge decks etc. A layer of gravel coated with bitumen or tar is first applied to the compacted soil to form a comparatively dense structure some 5 cm. thick. A second layer of bitumen or tar coated material, with a more open structure, is then placed on the first layer to a thickness of 4 cm. A cement mortar is next applied over this second layer and penetrates into the latter, its distribution and penetration being assured by a vibrating rammer or roller. A dry mixture of cement, sand and a synthetic hardening material is the sprinkled over the surface and finally smoothed by a mechanical trowel.
