Abstract

Pretreatment consists in subjecting a conductor as cathode to d.c. and/or a.c. electrolysis in a pure water electrolyte. Specif. the electrolyte may be an aqueous solution of an amine. The conductor may be metal such as Fe, Cu, Al, Mg, Zn etc. one of these metals previously subjected to electrolytic oxidisation, or one of these metals having a large number of microscopic holes in the surface layer. The pretreatment time may be from 2 second to 3 minutes.
