Abstract

Adding dissolved chemicals, esp. flocculating agents in water treatment plants Used esp. in suspension contacting plants for the flocculation of impurities e.g. by polyelectrolytes, and the subsequent sedimentation of the flocculated sludge, the apparatus comprises cylindrical container for the treatment solution, with a feed pipe in the centre of the base, arranged above the water level of the flocculating plant, and connected to an internal concentric cylindrical sleeve, open at the top and bottom, by an annular intermediate partition at the lower end of the sleeve, the upper end of which acts as an overflow weir. The annular chamber between the container and the sleeve is divided into a series of compartments by radial partition into which enter the pipes for taking the treatment solution to the flocculating plant.
