Abstract

Compounds 1(-)-6-phenyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroimidazo (2,1-b)-thiazole and its d-10-camphorsulphonate, and hydrogen halide salts and d(+)6-phenyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroimidazo(2,1-b)-thiazole and its d-10-camphorsulphonate, and hydrogen halide salts. The laevo-isomer has been found to have anthelmintic activity, whereas the dextro-isomer is devoid of activity but is toxic. The laevo-isomer has a much greater margin of safety in animals than does the known racemic dl-compound. The compound is effective against e.g. Nematospiroides dubius, and Trichostrongylus colubriformis.
