Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I or II (R1 is hydrocarbon, phenyl, amino or carboxylic acid residue R2 is H or methyl A is 2-4C alkylene n is a positive integer 0-100 M is mono- or bivalent cation m is the ionic valency of M). EXAMPLE:Sodium lauryl 2-hydroxy-3-allyloxy-1-propyl sulfosuccinate. USE:A reactive surfactant capable of improving the dyeability, antistatic property, water resistance and hydrophilicity, etc. of various polymers. PROCESS:A diester of formula III is sulfonated with an acid sulfite or metasulfite or a mixture thereof at 50-200 deg.C, preferably 70-150 deg.C, to give the aimed compound of formula I or II. The reaction surfactant of this invention is used in an amount of 0.1-40wt%, preferably 0.2-30wt%, in copolymers.
