Abstract

The invention relates to a process for preparing full-charge blanks for the production of CaC2 having the required stoichiometric CaO/C ratio by a single-stage pyrolysis process. According to the invention, this is achieved when the starting materials are natural limestone and coal, and these primary raw materials are preferably mixed with small quantities of auxiliaries. After combined grinding to high fineness, precompaction of the ground material and high-pressure briquetting, the small briquettes are carefully degassed up to 1000 DEG C and cooled by dry methods.
