UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE CARBAPENEMAS. CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE UN COMPUESTO (I) O DE UN DERIVADO REACTIVO DEL MISMO CON UN DERIVADO DE AZIRIDINA (II), EN EL QUE PUEDE PROTEGERSE CUALQUIER GRUPO REACTIVO. SE OBTIENE EL COMPUESTO (III) Y A CONTINUACION SE PUEDEN EFECTUAR LAS SIGUIENTES OPERACIONES: A) SEPARAR CUALQUIER GRUPO PROTECTOR DE LOS RADICALES R1, R2 Y R3; B) SEPARAR CUALQUIER GRUPO DE BLOQUEO DEL CARBOXILO; C) CONVERTIR EL PRODUCTO EN UN ESTER, SAL O CACIDO. LA REACCION TIENE LUGAR EN PRESENCIA DE UN CARBONATO O BICARBONATO DE POTASIO, CALCIO, SODIO, MAGNESIO O LITIO.
