Abstract

Método para preparar un control de referencia hematológico único para supervisar la exactitud de las mediciones de parámetros hematológicos convencionales y de parámetros de plaquetas, que incluye: A) preparar una suspensión estabilizada de plaquetas de sangre humana o animal; B) obtener un control de referencia de hematología de sangre completa convencional incluyendo eritrocitos en un medio de suspensión; C) mezclar la suspensión de plaquetas estabilizada y el control de referencia con una mezcla de urea y cloruro de sodio o sal parecida elegida de modo que sea compatible con los componentes hematológicos de la mezcla durante un periodo de tiempo predeterminado; y D) dejar que la suspensión resultante se estabilice durante aproximadamente 48 horas, estando dicha urea presente por lo menos a una concentración normalmente perjudicial para la estabilidad y la integridad de los eritrocitos, no produciendo dicha concentración de urea efectos perjudiciales de modo que los parámetros de eritrocitos y plaquetas se mantienen generalmente estables y aproximadamente idénticos a los que ocurren en especímenes de sangre de mamífero.
