Abstract

Una torre mejorada que se extiende por encima del suelo y que soporta al menos una línea aérea de transporte de energía eléctrica, y medios para proteger a dicha línea de transporte de energía con respecto de una descarga eléctrica, en la que la mejora consiste en que dichos medios protectores comprenden: un conductor blindado que incluye un núcleo conductor central, una envoltura conductora exterior, y una capa aislante entre dicho núcleo y dicha envoltura, estando el extremo superior de dicho núcleo conectado eléctricamente con un miembro conductor adyacente a la parte superior de dicha torre, estando puestos a tierra tanto el extremo inferior de dicho núcleo como el extremo inferior de dicha envoltura y extendiéndose dicha envoltura desde sustancialmente la zona de conexión de dicho núcleo con dicho miembro conductor hasta una posición por debajo de dicha línea de transporte de energía, estando dicha posición distanciada por debajo de dicha línea de transporte de energía al menos por unadistancia suficiente para excluir la formación de un arco de descarga entre dicho núcleo y dicha línea de transporte de energía.
