Abstract
Procedimiento para la utilización de lodos de aguas residuales digeridos en condiciones anaeróbicas, formados principalmente en el curso de la depuración de aguas residuales municipales, que contienen impurezas orgánicas, caracterizado porque a) los lodos de aguas residuales digeridos se tratan térmicamente calentándolos hasta por lo menos 80ºC, preferiblemente hasta 100-150ºC de temperatura y, seguidamente, enfriándolos opcionalmente hasta una temperatura de 80-40ºC, b) los lodos de aguas residuales digeridos y tratados térmicamente se separan opcionalmente en presencia de un coagulante, para obtener concentrado de lodos y material sobrenadante, c) se forma un medio de cultivo mediante la adición al material sobrenadante de un alcohol que tiene de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono, preferiblemente metanol, por lo menos una sal inorgánica que contiene nitrógeno, opcionalmente precursor (es) de vitamina (s) solubles en agua, así como factores de crecimiento , d) el medio de cultivo se inocula con lodos de aguas residuales digeridos en condiciones anaeróbicas, e) el medio de cultivo inoculado se fermenta a una temperatura de 26-38 ºC mediante un método anaeróbico, f) la biomasa se separa del líquido de fermentación formado durante la fermentación.
