Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de tiofenos 3- sustituidos que implica la ciclación de un nuevo intermediario y evita el uso de los costosos materiales de partida empleados anteriormente, los tiofenos son útiles para la preparación de penicilinas y cefalosporinas. El procedimiento se dirige a la preparación de un tiofeno de fórmula (I) **fórmula** donde R1 representa un grupo ácido carboxílico o un éster o amida del mismo o un grupo nitrilo, R2 representa un grupo adecuado para uso momo alfa sustituyente en la cadena lateral de una penicilina o cefalosporina, cuyo procedimiento consiste en tratar un compuesto de fórmula **fórmula** donde X representa halógeno o hidroxilo opcionalmente funcionalizado e Y representa halógeno, hidroxilo o alcoxi, con una fuente de azufre nucleófilo, en condiciones básicas.
