1453427 Pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine - 4 - one derivatives HISAMITSU PHARMACEUTICAL CO Inc 14 June 1975 25498/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their acid addition salts, wherein R is Ph (optionally substituted by NO 2 , CF 3 or by 1 or 2 of Me and halogen), and R<SP>1</SP> is H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 3-5 alkenyl, propargyl, cyclopropylmethyl, C 1-3 mono- or tri-halo-alkyl, AcOC 2 H 4 , hydroxy- C 2-3 -alkyl or C 2-4 -(alkoxyalkyl). These compounds may be prepared by (1) oxidizing or hydrolysing a 4-imino or thiono analogue, (2) reducing a corresponding 2-thiono compound, or (3) introducing the substituent R<SP>1</SP>. Therapeutic compositions having antiinflammatory, antiulcerative, analgetic, antipyretic, antihistaminic and/or C.N.S. depressant activity, comprise compounds of the above formula.
