Abstract
The pressure-relief device (2), which is shown in longitudinal section, consists of a cylindrical body (3) (which has a cylindrical hole passing through it), of a piston (5) (which is inserted into said cylindrical body (3) such that it is sealed by means of a seal (4), and of a connecting element (6) which mechanically connects the piston (5) to this cylindrical body (3). The connecting element (6) consists of a metal plate which is provided with a weak point (7) which is formed by circular cut-outs. If the predetermined pressure on the side of the piston (5) carrying the connecting element (6) is exceeded, the weak point (7) of the connecting element (6) tears. The piston (5) is thereafter ejected from the hole in the cylindrical body (3). Pressure relief thus occurs through the hole which has become exposed in the cylindrical body (3).
