Abstract

Water is separated from moist gas by a process with the following steps: (a) compression of the moist gas (b) cooling of the now compressed moist gas (c) adiabatic expansion of the moist gas. The step sequence is optional. The compression can be done in several stages with cooling between. After each stage the gas can be cooled and adiabatically to extract work for ise in recompressing the moist gas. The gas is cooled by the adiabatic expansion and this can be used the compressed moist gas. For use in drying moist gas or recovering water from atmospheric air. Gives a process whereby a greater quantity of water can be sepd. from a moist gas than hitherto.
