Abstract

A method of heat treating liquids that comprises pre-heating the liquid in a confined area to a temperature above its boiling point at a previously selected pressure less than the pressure that exists in the confined area, exposing the previously heated liquid to the pre-pressure selected whereby its temperature drops to the value corresponding to its boiling point, then charge the liquid, at a substantially constant flow rate and at a substantially constant temperature, to a heating zone supplied with a substance that provides heat at a substantially constant flow rate whereby the liquid is heated to a predetermined and substantially constant final temperature, and the liquid is maintained at the final temperature for a predetermined period of time.
