Title cmpds. are of formula I, where R = (2-6C) alkyl, R'O (CH2)n - where R' = H, (1-7C) alkyl, or Ph and n = 2-6, or Ph opt. subst. by (1-7C) alkyl, (1-7C) O alkyl, or hal. I are prepd. by reacting a 2-haloadenosine with ROH and a base (e.g. KOH, RONa) in a solvent at 50-200 degrees.
