Abstract

An electronic closing system that includes: a key that includes a structural element adapted to be coupled with an associated locking device and an electronic data memory that contains a plurality of interconnected stages that serve to store a multi-bit key code as well as data terminals to couple said key to an associated locking device by means of which said key code can be transferred to and from said electronic data memory in response to a clock signal from said locking device; a locking device adapted to operate with said key and which includes: a receptacle intended to receive the structural element of said key actively coupled with it; an electronic data memory for storing a multi-bit master code; means for comparing said key code stored in said key data memory said standard code being stored in said standard code memory; a clock device for providing a clock signal to said key data memory to produce the reading of said key code by said comparison device for the purpose of comparing said key code with said standard code; said comparing device serving to provide a first exit indication upon receiving a key code from said key data memory corresponding identically to said master code and a second exit indication to receive a key code from said key memory key data that does not correspond identically to said pattern code; and logic means receiving said first and second output indications from said comparison device and operating in response to said first output indication to provide a trigger signal for the closing device, and operating in response to said second indication of output output to provide an alarm trigger signal.
